Ambiguous
A fun, experimental exploration of fluidity and ambiguity, Ambiguous is a 12-image project taking inspiration from the playful, ever-changing expression of Jules, the model. These portraits explore how expression is fuelled by identity, for them, as a genderqueer person of both Afro Latin and Asian descent. Celebrating the simplicity of something that is often so over complicated, somebody who lives within the intersection of so many identities – along with the general complexities of human emotion, and how this too directs how we present ourselves to the world. Presented in their humanness, a recognisable figure, something commercialised, yet still confusing, still something that is the centre of debate, an identity that cannot be binary – Ambiguous highlights the other, embracing the joy and normality of fluid expression.
