DOLA POSH

‘Omo mi’ (My Child)

Dola Posh is a Nigerian portrait photographer from the United Kingdom. She works from the landscape of her imagination and focuses on telling the stories of everyday life. From the ‘Omo mi’ series by Dola Posh (@dolaposh) ‘Omo mi’, meaning my child explores the delicate and life-changing experience of being a new mother. After relocating to the UK, the photographer struggled to find her feet, resulting in loneliness, weight loss and a decline in her mental health. Due to this, she was unable to have a child. But just before she started treatment, she got the most wonderful news: she was with a child. From then on, she started documenting her pregnancy journey and motherhood and promised to celebrate her daughter daily. She has now dedicated this project to her. Omo mi is a celebration of the photographer’s daughter and hopes this inspires others who view the images to see the joys and beauty of life as a woman.
